The Wharton Alumni Association of India is pleased to invite you to an insightful webinar with Erik Solheim, a globally recognized environmental leader. Erik, the former Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), will share his expertise on the pressing climate challenges facing our world and how India can take a leadership role in driving sustainable change.

In this session, Erik will explore India’s unique opportunities and responsibilities in addressing global climate issues, drawing from his extensive work with various climate initiatives in India. Erik has also played a key role in accelerating climate action with the Indian government and was instrumental in supporting Sri Lanka’s economic recovery post-crisis.

About The Speaker

Erik Solheim

Erik Solheim, a global leader in climate policy, served as Executive Director of UNEP (2016-2018) and previously chaired the OECD’s Development Assistance Committee. As Norway’s Minister of the Environment and International Development (2007-2012), he uniquely bridged environmental and development agendas. Today, Erik is actively engaged in climate initiatives with the Indian government to accelerate climate action and has played a key role in supporting Sri Lanka's economic recovery following its financial crisis. Recognized with UNEP’s Champion of the Earth and TIME’s Hero of the Environment awards, Erik's career reflects his enduring commitment to sustainable progress.
