Dear Alumni,
We are excited to invite you to an exclusive Fireside Chat with Dr. K.V. Subramanian, author of India@100: Envisioning Tomorrow's Economic Powerhouse, as part of the Wharton India Fireside Chats series. Currently serving as Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and a Professor of Finance at the Indian School of Business, Dr. Subramanian was also the youngest Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India from 2018 to 2021.
Drawing on his extensive experience in economic policy and insights from India@100, Dr. Subramanian will explore the question:
"What Will It Take for India to Become a $55 Trillion Economy by 2047?"
In this session, Dr. Subramanian will discuss the four key pillars necessary to propel India's growth: macroeconomic emphasis on growth, microeconomic focus on social and economic inclusion, ethical wealth creation, and a virtuous investment-driven cycle. His insights will highlight the policies and reforms needed for India to seize its opportunities in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
This discussion will be moderated by Samir Shah, Managing Partner at Peak Sustainability Ventures, a leading investor in sustainability and climate investments, and Wharton MBA, Class of 1986.
